Description
Ebonising Lacquer, such as the Chestnut Product Ebonising Lacquer (Aerosol) 400ml, is a durable and highly pigmented lacquer. Once dry, it replicates the classic satin finish of ebony.
Typically, applied over a sanding sealer, such as Cellulose Sanding Sealer or Acrylic Sanding Sealer in aerosol form. It is touch dry within approximately five minutes and becomes fully dry after twenty minutes.
Despite its heavy pigmentation, Chestnut Product Ebonising Lacquer (Aerosol) 400ml is not paint. It will still permit the grain of the wood to be visible rather than completely covering it.
Liming Wax and Gilt Cream can be applied over Ebonising Lacquer to create a bold yet simple artistic effect. Indeed, the combination can be quite artistic.
To achieve a bright gloss finish with Ebonising Lacquer, it is best to use Burnishing Cream. This will polish the lacquer to a high shine. Furthermore, Acrylic Gloss Lacquer, WoodWax 22, and Microcrystalline Wax are suitable for application over Ebonising Lacquer.
