Description
Ebonising Lacquer is a durable, water-based lacquer that is highly pigmented. Once dry, it replicates the classic satin finish of ebony.
Typically, aplied over a sanding sealer, such as Cellulose Sanding Sealer or Acrylic Sanding Sealer in aerosol form, is touch dry within approximately five minutes and becomes fully dry after twenty minutes.
Despite its heavy pigmentation, it is not paint and will still permit the grain of the wood to be visible, rather than completely covering it.
Liming Wax and Gilt Cream may be used on top of Ebonising Lacquer to achieve a striking yet straightforward artistic impression.
To achieve a bright gloss finish with Ebonising Lacquer, it is best to use Burnishing Cream, which will polish the lacquer to a high shine. Additionally, Acrylic Gloss Lacquer, WoodWax 22, and Microcrystalline Wax can be applied over Ebonising Lacquer.
